The present work describes the first electrochemical method for quantifying paraquat herbicide poisoning in human saliva samples. Paraquat shows two couples of well‐defined peaks in aqueous solution using a boron doped diamond (BDD) electrode. By using square wave voltammetry (SWV) technique under optimum experimental conditions, a linear analytical curve was obtained for paraquat concentrations ranging from 0.800 to 167 µmol L?1, with a detection limit of 70 nmol L?1. This method was applied to quantify paraquat spikes in human saliva samples and in two different water samples (tap and river). The recovery values obtained ranged from 83.0 to 104 % and 99.1 to 105 %, respectively, which highlight the accuracy of the proposed method. 相似文献

The splitting of water into hydrogen and oxygen molecules using sunlight is an attractive method for solar energy storage. Until now, photoelectrochemical hydrogen evolution is mostly studied in acidic solutions, in which the hydrogen evolution is more facile than in alkaline solutions. Herein, we report photoelectrochemical hydrogen production in alkaline solutions, which are more favorable than acidic solutions for the complementary oxygen evolution half‐reaction. We show for the first time that amorphous molybdenum sulfide is a highly active hydrogen evolution catalyst in basic medium. The amorphous molybdenum sulfide catalyst and a Ni–Mo catalyst are then deposited on surface‐protected cuprous oxide photocathodes to catalyze sunlight‐driven hydrogen production in 1 M KOH. The photocathodes give photocurrents of ?6.3 mA cm?2 at the reversible hydrogen evolution potential, the highest yet reported for a metal oxide photocathode using an earth‐abundant hydrogen evolution reaction catalyst. 相似文献

Cocatalysts have been extensively used to promote water oxidation efficiency in solar‐to‐chemical energy conversion, but the influence of interface compatibility between semiconductor and cocatalyst has been rarely addressed. Here we demonstrate a feasible strategy of interface wettability modification to enhance water oxidation efficiency of the state‐of‐the‐art CoOx/Ta3N5 system. When the hydrophobic feature of a Ta3N5 semiconductor was modulated to a hydrophilic one by in situ or ex situ surface coating with a magnesia nanolayer (2–5 nm), the interfacial contact between the hydrophilic CoOx cocatalyst and the modified hydrophilic Ta3N5 semiconductor was greatly improved. Consequently, the visible‐light‐driven photocatalytic oxygen evolution rate of the resulting CoOx/MgO(in)–Ta3N5 photocatalyst is ca. 23 times that of the pristine Ta3N5 sample, with a new record (11.3 %) of apparent quantum efficiency (AQE) under 500–600 nm illumination. 相似文献

Active and stable electrocatalysts made from earth‐abundant elements are key to water splitting for hydrogen production through electrolysis. The growth of NiSe nanowire film on nickel foam (NiSe/NF) in situ by hydrothermal treatment of NF using NaHSe as Se source is presented. When used as a 3D oxygen evolution electrode, the NiSe/NF exhibits high activity with an overpotential of 270 mV required to achieve 20 mA cm?2 and strong durability in 1.0 M KOH, and the NiOOH species formed at the NiSe surface serves as the actual catalytic site. The system is also highly efficient for catalyzing the hydrogen evolution reaction in basic media. This bifunctional electrode enables a high‐performance alkaline water electrolyzer with 10 mA cm?2 at a cell voltage of 1.63 V. 相似文献

Solar water splitting provides a clean and renewable approach to produce hydrogen energy. In recent years, single‐crystal semiconductors such as Si and InP with narrow band gaps have demonstrated excellent performance to drive the half reactions of water splitting through visible light due to their suitable band gaps and low bulk recombination. This Minireview describes recent research advances that successfully overcome the primary obstacles in using these semiconductors as photoelectrodes, including photocorrosion, sluggish reaction kinetics, low photovoltage, and unfavorable planar substrate surface. In this paper, based on the Hermitian and skew-Hermitian splitting (HSS) iteration method, a single-step HSS (SHSS) iteration method is introduced to solve the non-Hermitian positive definite linear systems. Theoretical analysis shows that, under a loose restriction on the iteration parameter, the SHSS method is convergent to the unique solution of the linear system. Furthermore, we derive an upper bound for the spectral radius of the SHSS iteration matrix, and the quasi-optimal parameter is obtained to minimize the above upper bound. Numerical experiments are reported to the efficiency of the SHSS method; numerical comparisons show that the proposed SHSS method is superior to the HSS method under certain conditions. 相似文献

We consider the numerical approximation of the weak solutions of the two‐layer shallow‐water equations. The model under consideration is made of two usual one‐layer shallow‐water model coupled by nonconservative products. Because of the nonconservative products of the system, which couple both one‐layer shallow‐water subsystems, the usual numerical methods have to consider the full model. Of course, uncoupled numerical techniques, just involving finite volume schemes for the basic shallow‐water equations, are very attractive since they are very easy to implement and they are costless. Recently, a stable layer splitting technique was introduced [Bouchut and Morales de Luna, M2AN Math Model Numer Anal 42 (2008), 683–698]. In the same spirit, we exhibit new splitting technique, which is proved to be well balanced and non‐negative preserving.
